I'm going to be in Cairo this New Years Eve---it's going to be my first without my friends from here in London, but i still really want to enjoy myself! What normally happens in Cairo, where are the best places to go!?
most people stay at home...certainly in my family in al-mansura! Interesting start...I wish you all the best in Cairo...I assure you it will be fantastic...I did a similar thing but went to Syria to study. I'm half British, half Egyptian too :)
some people go out to one of the main parties-concerts, others make house parties (some are good some are not so) and mystery and greyscale stay at home :) same like what you would do over there i guess
some people prefer to travel somewhere for new years, to go to sinai and enjoy the serentity away from the crazy happening of cairo.

some people just hang out with friends and not do anything special...others attend one of the concerts or gigs that take place on new year's eve...
i tend to stay at home...new year's is over-rated.
