Belated Seasons Greetings!

A belated Happy New Year, Happy Eid, Merry Christmas, and Coptic Christmas (which i think was yesterday, sa7?)...anyway, Kol sana w entom taybeen!
I just got back from Cairo last night...had such an amazing time, but it went so quickly! My new years was fun....ended up going to a party organized by "yallabina" with my "guy" and his friends...i don't know what to call him....he's more than a friend, but living in Egypt, so things get complicated....i'm sure you all understand what i mean anyway!
Anyway even though i had such an amazing time, there were hardly any girls there!! Do girls not go out on new years eve? Is it only guys that have any kind of freedom in Egypt!? Are girls that go out without the family seen as "bad"? Alot of the girls there didnt even seem Egyptian...is it that Egyptian girls don't want to go out, or that they're too restricted!?
Anyway, how was everyone's Christmas/Eid/New Year?
Oh, and for all those Ahly fans....Mabrook on beating Zamalek yet again!!!

New Years Eve- Cairo

I'm going to be in Cairo this New Years Eve---it's going to be my first without my friends from here in London, but i still really want to enjoy myself! What normally happens in Cairo, where are the best places to go!?

So, this is me...

Well...i'm not too sure how to start this! I'm a (half) Egyptian girl, currently living in London. I have so many views on life in Egypt, especially Cairo...even though i've never lived there before! I love reading peoples blogs...especially the ones concerning life in Egypt and the rest of the Middle East, which is why i thought i'd start my own...but now i'm here i don't know where to start!
Anyway, i thought i'd call this "a new, fresh, Egyptian start" (stupid name i kno....but i have a limited imagination), because i'm planning to live in Cairo for a year...starting in July 2007-ish, and i'm stupid enough to think that people would like to share my experiences with them! I'm off to Egypt in just over a week to organise everything for my year living there, so thought it was the perfect time to start a blog, and maybe to get others ideas of what i could do with myself whilst i'm there---and any advice would be greatly appriciated! I'm a teenage girl that's used to having loads of freedom whilst in London, am finding my intrusive family quite restricting while in Cairo, and seeing as i hardly speak any Arabic, my problems deepen!
I'm sure many people know EXACTLY what i'm talking about....?
